Parents, Students Encouraged to Meet with Various Representatives of U.S. Service Academies at BHS

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 11, 2019

FROM BRIDGEPORT HIGH SCHOOL

Curious about whether your child has what it takes to be in the United States Service Academies or involved with the ROTC Scholarship programs? If so, you’ll have a chance to answer questions locally.

According to information from Bridgeport High School Principal Matt DeMotto, the office of U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) is inviting all West Virginia students, parents, teachers and school counselors to meet with admissions representatives from the above groups.

Although there are four meetings set throughout the state, the one in the local area will be held at Bridgeport High School. The meeting will take place Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. at Bridgeport High School.

During the meeting, admission representatives from the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Coast Guard Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, Reserve Officers’ Training Crops (ROTC) and the Dept of Defensive Medical Examination Review Board will be on hand.

The meeting is open to individuals from anywhere in the region and across the state. This is not for Bridgeport students only.

For those wanting additional information, they can contact the Capito’s office in West Virginia. The number there is 304-347-5372.
