"Pumpkin House" Earns Top Honor for Most Creative in City P&R's Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on October 30, 2024

The winner has been announced for Bridgeport Parks and Recreation's Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest that was open to all ages of individuals.

Bridgeport resident Ashley Todd's entry was chosen as the winner of the most creative carved pumkin after pumpkins were submitted over a multi-day period last week. Individuals were asked to bring their carved pumpkins, and an entry form, to the Benedum Civic Center between Oct. 24 and Oct. 27.

On Sunday, Oct. 27, voting took place early in the evening. The judging was held between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The entries were, and still are, located outside of the Benedum Civic Center. Residents, as well as anyone visiting or going through Bridgeport, are encouraged to stop by and have a look.

Todd's entry, which is found below, is of a little pumpkin house with a pumpkin resident and pumpkin steps leading inside.

Prizes were awarded in varoius divisions during the pumpkin carving contest.

Editor's Note: Photo shows Ashley Todd with her daughter Arabella Hoskinson. The 2.5-year-old Arabella proved even cuter than the winning pumpkin. Photos used with this story are courtesy of Bridgeport Parks and Recreation.
