Route 50 Bridge in Harrison County's Westbound Lane to be Closed into Saturday Afternoon for Repairs
By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on May 09, 2025
The bridge, located near the Marshville Road intersection, is currently down to one lane for a bridge rehabilitation project.
Brayman Construction was awarded a contract for approximately $5.5 million in January 2025 to replace the bridge superstructure and deck, make repairs to the bridge abutment, and rebuild the bridge approaches. Work is expected to be completed in November 2026.
Traffic is being detoured until repairs are complete.
Westbound car traffic should detour off US 50 at Jarvisville-Makin Road, head south to Meathouse Fork Road, north to Sherwood-Greenbrier Road, and north on Patterson Fork Road back to US 50.
Multi-axled trucks must take a longer detour to avoid a weight-restricted bridge on the car detour route. Trucks should get off US 50 at the intersection with Interstate 79 (Exit 119), head south to US 119/US 33, west to WV 47, and north on WV 18 back to US 50.
Crews planned to patch the hole in the bridge with quick-setting concrete. West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) road crews hope to have the bridge reopen by the afternoon of Saturday, May 10, 2025.
