In March, members of the Shinnston City Council announced they have hired a new city manager. And the person knows the city quite well.
Tori Drainer, 24, was chosen as the administrative head for the city during a meeting of Council in March. If the name sounds familiar, there is a reason for it.
Drainer has been the city’s interim city manager since the resignation of Chad Edwards in 2023. She served in the capacity as interim city manager after his departure before recently being given the job on a permanent basis.
Prior to serving as city manager, she also was the Shinnston Town Clerk beginning in July of 2021. Following that stint, she worked directly with Edwards, which gave her first-hand knowledge of the position she holds.
Drainer’s familiarity with the community goes back further than her time working with it in a official capacity. She is also a graduate of Lincoln High School.
