Simpson Elementary School Students Earn State Title Hardware at West Virginia Chess Championship

A pair of Simpson Elementary School students recently fared quite well at the state chess championships that took place last Saturday, March 15.
Students Claire Hall and Collin Kulick took part in the 54th Annual WV Scholastic Chess Championship in Charleston at the Wilson Student Union on the campus of West Virginia State University.
Hall and Kulick earned the K-5 second place team trophy for Simpson Elementary School at the event.
Shown in the photo are Hall and Kulick. They are joined by Bridgeport's Bob Greer, who is top official with the West Virginia Chess Association and is involved with local and statewide chess events.
