By Jeff Toquinto on January 09, 2025

A total of 71 individuals, including six from Bridgeport, were indicted in the January 2025 term of the Harrison County Grand Jury.

The grand jury, which saw its initial work postponed due to the weather, started Wednesday. The work was completed this afternoon, Thursday, Jan 9.

Among those from Bridgeport was Michael Wolford, John Wagner, John Porter, Noah Dytzel, Arron Henry, and Brittany Sterling. Harrison County Prosecuting Attorney Rachel Romano’s office brought the indictments forward.

Wolford, 44, was indicted on one count of unlawful assault. Wagner, 48, was indicted on one count of possession of a firearm by a person prohibited from possessing a firearm. Porter, 58, was indicted on one count of destruction of property.

Dytzel, 23, was indicted on one count of sexual abuse in the first degree and one count of second-degree sexual assault. Henry, 34, was indicted on one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Sterling 35, was indicted on one count of abduction of a person, kidnapping or concealing a child.

Among the other indictments was one involving George Alexander Hoffman of Lost Creek. Hoffman, 23, was indicted on one count of murder. He allegedly killed his mother in March.

The grand jury was presided over by Harrison County Chief Circuit Judge Christopher J. McCarthy.

An indictment is merely an allegation, and each defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
