By Jeff Toquinto on June 30, 2020

An early Monday morning traffic stop in Bridgeport resulted in an arrest of a Harrison County man after the discovery of several illegal items.

According to Bridgeport Police Chief John Walker, at 1 a.m. Police Officer J.S. Carey was involved in a traffic stop along the heavily traveled Johnson Avenue with Officer C.C. Turner. It was during the subsequent investigation because of the stop the officer noticed the items that led to the arrest.

Inside the car of Joshua Aaron Horner, police allege they found various drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, marijuana, Suboxone strips, along with what was described as a substantial amount of U.S. currency along with other materials used for drug distribution.

Walker said the cash total was more than $5,000.

Horner is 37 years of age. He is a resident of Salem.

After his arrest, he was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. The substance in question was meth. The charge is a felony.

As of 5 p.m. Monday, Horner was being held in the North Central Regional Jail. His bond was set at $25,000.
