Trio of Bridgeport Businessmen Make Opening of New Establishment Official with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

By Jeff Toquinto on March 24, 2025

A group of Bridgeport businessmen’s latest venture is up and running just outside the city limits with the first of two phases in operation.

On Friday, officials with the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce and other dignitaries were on hand for the ribbon cutting for EZ-Storage, LLC, on Meadowbrook Road.

As the name indicates, the new business involves storage units. Bridgeport’s Clayton Rice, Mark Vecchio, and Andy Lang are the operators of the facility.

“This has been a pretty straight forward project,” said Rice of the $1.4 million investment. “We have 130 traditional storage units with a variety of sizes. There will also be 45 outside camper and RV spaces.”

While the name is new, the business venture is not. Rice said this will make the fifth set of storage units under the business umbrella – four of which are in the city limits of Bridgeport.

The other locations are called Bridgeport Storage. They are located on Virginia Avenue, Railroad Street (behind Main Street Station), Route 50 (adjacent to Reep Graphics), and on Daniel Drive at Charleston Pointe.

“We changed the name on this one because it sits just outside of Bridgeport and it also provides us with a different branding opportunity,” said Rice.

The business actually opened in December of 2024. Ribbon cuttings have been delayed due to one of the most severe winters in recent years in the area.

“It’s been received exceptionally good so far with a lot of rental activity. We feel we’re providing a service on this end of Harrison County that isn’t there,” he said.

Spaces are still available and there are two ways to rent. Rice said calls can be made to Manger Dave Preston at 304-838-5315. Units can also be rented online at www.bridgeportstoragewv.com. Information about the sizes and prices of units available and all other pertinent information should be found on the Web site for the new site as well as the Bridgeport Storage units.

The new business sits on a 4.5-acre site and covers roughly 2.5 acres of the parcel. There is room to expand with plans to do a second phase with additional units this summer.

EZ-Storage is located at 2407 Meadowbrook Road, Bridgeport, 26330. It is on the left-hand side of Meadowbrook Road leaving from Bridgeport about one-half mile past the Pete Dye Golf Club.
