Victims in Good Hope Fire Identified as Residents of Harrison County; Both Shot Prior to Start of Blaze

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on June 22, 2022

FROM THE HARRISON COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT, CAPTAIN R.G. WAYBRIGHT

The two victims from the ongoing homicide investigation have been identified as, Chasity C. Romeo, 33 and Corey S. Snider, 43 both of Lost Creek.

The investigation has revealed that both victims were shot prior to the fire located at their residence, 7145 Good Hope Pike.  It appears that this was an isolated incident and poses no further risk to the general public, according to Sheriff Robert Matheny.

Through the investigation a person of interest has been identified and this remains an active homicide investigation conducted by the Harrison County Sheriff's Office Detective Unit with assistance from the Harrison County Violent Crimes and Drug Task Force.  The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office is concurrently investigating the cause of the fire.

If you have any information regarding this investigation please contact the lead detective, Deputy A. C. Vernon at 304-423-7700.
