BHS Wrestling Team to Compete in Two-Day Winner's Choice Tournament in Fairmont

The Bridgeport High School wrestling team will be in action this weekend at the Winner’s Choice Tournament in Fairmont.
 
The two-day event will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Fairmont Senior Field House. Weigh-ins on Friday are set to begin at 10 a.m. with matches set to start at 1 p.m.
 
Weigh-ins on Saturday are from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and action will pick back up at 10 a.m. The championship and consolation finals are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
 
In addition to the Indians and host Polar Bears, teams scheduled to compete are Berkeley Springs, Buckhannon-Upshur, Cabell Midland, Clay County, East Fairmont, George Washington, Greenbrier East, Hedgesville, Independence, Keyser, Lewis County, Nitro, North Marion, Oak Hill, Parkersburg, Preston, Ripley, Ritchie County, Riverside, St. Albans, Sissonville, South Harrison, Spring Mills, Spring Valley, Tyler Consolidated, Washington and Woodrow Wilson.
 
The Indians ended up competing in the Bakers Brawl at East Hardy last Saturday after their home quad match fell through.
 
The Bakers Brawl was a dual format meet and the Indians finished fourth overall. Derek Starkey (160 weight class) and Bryce Carnes (182) both went undefeated at the event.
