Four Bridgeport High School Basketball Players Earn All-Big 10 Conference Honors

Four Bridgeport High School basketball players, two for the boys and two for the girls, earned all-Big 10 Conference honors.
 
The all-Big 10 teams are selected by league coaches and administrators.
 
For the boys, Jack Bifano was named first-team all-Big 10, while Mitchell Duez was selected for the second team.
 
For the girls, Gabby Reep and Paige Humble were chosen as first-team honorees.
 
Bifano, who recently graduated, averaged 17. 6 points, 10.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. He also was a second-team Class AAA all-state selection, was named the Game MVP for the Scott Brown Classic and will participate in the annual North-South game later this month and will continue his career next year at Marymount.
 
Duez, a rising senior at BHS, averaged 10.2 points, 3.3 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals. He also recently earned Class AAA all-state honorable mention status.
 
Reep, a rising junior at BHS, averaged 19.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.2 steals during a sophomore season that saw her named as a first-team Class AAA all-state selection.
 
Humble, who recently graduated, averaged 11.1 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals. She also earned Class AAA all-state honorable mention status and will continue her career at Glenville State.
 
Bifano was joined on the all-Big 10 first team by Robert C. Byrd’s Bryson Lucas, Robert C. Byrd’s Gavin Kennedy, Fairmont Senior’s Jaelin Johnson, Fairmont Senior’s Zycheus Dobbs, Grafton’s Ryan Maier, Grafton’s Blake Moore, Buckhannon-Upshur’s Ryan Hurst, Lincoln’s Zach Snyder and North Marion’s Praise Chukwudozie.
 
Lucas was named the Big 10 Player of the Year and the league’s Coach of the Year honors went to RCB’s Bill Bennett, who recently announced his retirement.
 
Joining Duez on the second team are B-U’s Lamar Hurst and Josh Loudin, Elkins’ Mitchell Price, Lewis County’s Jaycob Smith, Liberty’s Jordan Jones, Lincoln’s Sammy Bart, North Marion’s Tariq Miller, Philip Barbour’s Josh Watson and RCB’s Jeremiah King.
 
In addition to Reep and Humble, first team all-Big 10 selections are Fairmont Senior’s Marley Washenitz, North Marion’s Olivia Toland, Lewis County’s Olivia Krinov, Fairmont Senior’s Meredith Maier, Buckhannon-Upshur’s Shelby McDaniels, North Marion’s Karlie Denham, Philip Barbour’s Alyssa Hill, Lincoln’s Hannah Ferris and Preston’s Michelle Thomas.
 
Second team selections are RCB’s Victoria Sturm, East Fairmont’s Kierra Bartholow, North Marion’s Kaitlyn Carson, Lewis County’s Emma Cayton, Philip Barbour’s Emily Dennison, Fairmont Senior’s Emily Starn, Lincoln’s Madi Martin, Elkins’ Anna Belan, East Fairmont’s Somer Stover and B-U’s Gabby Parke.
 
No girls player of the year or coach of the year were chosen.
