Smell Earns First-Team Class AAA All-State Volleyball Honors; Three other BHS Players Recognized

Bridgeport junior standout Myleigh Smell has been named a First-Team selection on the Class AAA All-State volleyball team which was announced today by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.
Smell emerged as one of the state’s premier all-around players this year and led the Indians to a 40-8-7 record and a spot in the state tournament for the ninth consecutive year.
Smell finished with 508 kills, 71 aces, 45 blocks, 27 assists and 384 digs.
Three of her teammates also earned all-state accolades in senior Ella Sorine, junior Kaylee Enfield and senior Caroline Deniker.
Sorine is a second-team selection after leading the Indians in assists with 1,117 to go along with 37 blocks, 106 aces, 52 kills and 231 digs.
Enfield, the team’s libero, earned special honorable mention status. She finished with a team-best 454 digs as well as 69 aces, 56 assists and six kills.
Deniker earned honorable mention status after posing 361 kills, 73 aces, 28 blocks, 333 digs and 25 assists.
