WBOY is reporting that Morgantown brewery Chestnut Brew Works (CBW) will be expanding to a second location on Pleasant Street in downtown Morgantown, according to an interview with the business owner William Rittenour.
The new location will be at 132 Pleasant St. which Morgantown residents may remember as the original location of Black Bear Burritos. “Chestnut Beer Hall and Bistro” will have 20 beer taps and serve a variety of simple eats like flatbreads, pretzels and other sharable food. The location will also serve a selection of wine and cider.
Rittenour said that he plans on the new location being part of the Private Outdoor Designated Area (PODA) that was unanimously approved by the Morgantown City Council on Tuesday evening. The ordinance allows people in the PODA to consume “liquor, wine, nonintoxicating beer (between .5% and 12% ABV), and nonintoxicating craft beer” outdoors. Similar ordinances have already been enacted in other West Virginia cities like Huntington and Charleston.
