Heavily Used Clarksburg Roadway to be Closed for Six Months as Water Board Begins Infrastructure Work

FROM THE CLARKSBURG WATER BOARD
There will be a road closure on South Chestnut Street from Route 98 to Harvey Street, starting on Monday, October 2, 2023, for contractors to replace 2,100 linear feet of 24-inch water line and associated service lines.
This closure is projected to last approximately six months. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
The affected area will be open to local traffic only. All local traffic will be required to use detours.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow additional time for their commute. All activities and sporting events scheduled at Hite Field will not be affected by this closure. Residents and businesses on Harvey Street and Stadium Drive will also not be affected by this closure.
Residents along South Chestnut Street within the affected area will be required to use detours; however, access to their property will be maintained by the contractor.
