One of Clarksburg's Most Popular Restaurants, Vito's Pizza, Appears to be Opening Again at Same Site

By Jeff Toquinto on September 25, 2023

It appears as if one of the area's and Clarksburg's most popular restaurants will be reopening its doors if a post on social media is correct.

Earlier this morning, a post on the Facebook page of Vito's Pizza and Restaurant said that they are "NOW HIRING." It further goes on to state they are looking to hire at multiple positions Tuesday through Thursday of this week.

It was on Dec. 6 that Vito's Pizza abrubtly announced their retirement. The business had been operating for decades and was located on Park Boulevard in Clarksburg, across from the Dollar General, which is the previous site of The Canteen.

The announcement of the closing due to retirement was liste on their Facebook page as well as the phone message when calling the business. The message, as of this morning, is the same. The message did state that the restaurant hopes to reopen under new ownership. Whether it is new management could not be confirmed. Tony Gialone and his his wife Pam were the previous owners. It is possible they are reopneing, but as noted, no additional information is availble.

However, the address for the chance to apply in person is the same addres of 104 Park Boulevard. Clarksburg Economic Development Director John Whitmore could not be reached for comment. It should also be noted that hiring for businesses often take place before permits are filed.

The social media post is below.
