As part of a continued recognition of National Recovery Month, the Clarksburg Mission is teaming up with Friends Feeding Friends and Good Shepherd Outreach for a "Speaker Jam Fest" filled with testimonies and live worship in downtown Clarksburg.
"Friends Feeding Friends will be serving meals and making connections, as they do every Wednesday," Executive Director Lou Ortenzio said. "We are demonstrating how big and how diverse the recovery community and Mission community are."
Ministry Coordinator Desi Underwood will speak about the Mission's Resurrection Program, while Ortenzio will focus on the area's Celebrate Recovery programs. Other guest speakers will include individuals from the Mission Change Initiative, BBC Rehab, Friends Feeding Friends, Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, Revive Recovery, TLC Ministries, and Oxford Houses of West Virginia. These individuals will hold Q&A sessions during the event and will be available for interviews.
The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15 in the grassy spot between First United Methodist Church and the parking garage.
