BHS Band Receives Superior Ratings on Day 1 of Region 10 Band Festival

Bridgeport High School Band is one of five high schools receiving a superior rating on Day 1 of the Region 10 Band Festival. BHS was the first band to audition at the BHS site Wednesday morning, performing grade level 4 and 5 pieces for adjudication. Musical selections are rated Level 1 (easiest) to Level 6 (most difficult.)
 
Also earning superior ratings at the BHS site were Morgantown High School wind ensemble (performing two level 6 selections), University High School concert band (performing level 3 and 4 selections) and Fairmont Senior High School (performing level 4 and 5 selections.)
 
Auditioning at Robert C. Byrd High School, Lincoln High School also scored a superior rating, performing two level 4 musical selections.
 
Other bands performing Wednesday at BHS were Clay-Battelle Middle/High, comments only on level 2 and 3 selections; Grafton High, excellent rating on two level 4 selections; Morgantown High freshmen, excellent rating on pair of level 3 selections; Barrackville Middle, excellent rating on two level 1 selections; Aurora Middle, good rating on level 1 and 2 selections; Mountaineer Middle (Mon), excellent rating on level 3 and 4 selections; East Fairmont Middle, excellent rating on pair of level 2 selections and North Marion High School, excellent rating on level 3 and 4 selections.
 
Other bands performing Wednesday at RCB were Washington Irving Middle School, excellent rating on pair of level 2 selections; Mountaineer Middle 8th Grade, superior rating on level 2 and 3 selections; South Harrison Middle, excellent rating on level 1 and 2 selections; Mountaineer Middle 7th Grade, superior rating on level 1 and 2 selections; Central Preston Middle (6th), superior rating on pair of level 1 selections; Central Preston (7th and 8th), superior rating on two level 3 selections; West Preston, excellent rating on pair of level 2 selections; Lincoln Middle School, superior rating on level 1 and 2 selections; Saint Francis Middle, comments only on two level 1 selections; Taylor County Middle, superior rating on level 1 and 2 selections and Trinity High/Middle School, good rating on level 1 and 2 selections.
 
Bridgeport Middle School will kick off Day 2 of the Region 10 Band Festival at the BHS site. Thursday morning, BMS will be followed by Notre Dame High/Middle, South Preston Middle, East Preston Middle, Fairview Middle, Westwood Middle, Suncrest Middle, West Fairmont Middle, Rowlesburg Middle, Rivesville Middle and Mannington Middle.
 
Set for adjudication Thursday at RCB are Liberty, Robert C. Byrd, South Harrison High, Morgantown High concert and symphonic bands, South Middle School, University High symphonic winds, East Fairmont High, Bruceton Middle, Monongah Middle, Preston High and Wirt County High School.
