Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center Adds Three New Highly-Requested Movies to Schedule

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 25, 2018

The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center will be adding three new highly-requested movies to their events schedule.

The first to be added is the 1988 American comedy-fantasy film directed by Tim Burton, “Beetlejuice,” which is a special screening in itself since it is the movie’s 30th anniversary. The event will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 30 after downtown Clarksburg’s citywide Trick-or-Treat event. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the movie starts at 7 p.m. Costumes are encouraged and guests will be greeted by none other than Beetlejuice himself in the lobby. Snap your pic and enjoy a spooky evening with family and friends at the Robinson Grand.

“We like to think of our movie screenings as more than just watching a film. They are an experience that includes interactive characters, artistic displays, or getting a chance to visit our theatre and delve deeper into our rich history. That is not something you can get at your typical movie theater,” says Ryan Tolley, executive director.

The second fan favorite movie to be added is the 1985 American adventure comedy, “The Goonies,” which has been added as a new View & Brew Event with a superior selection of craft beers available for your brewing pleasure. To give families something to do during Thanksgiving Break, this movie event has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 20 at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Lastly, Harry Potter Fans rejoice! The Robinson Grand will show the first of the “Harry Potter” series on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” is the 2001 fantasy film which is about the orphan boy turned wizard who saved the world. If all goes well, fans can expect to see the rest of the series appear on the big screen at the Robinson Grand in the months to come.

“We’ve added these three movies as night movies to provide alternatives to the Sunday matinees we have traditionally been offering. They’re still at that great price with the amazing historic experience. I hope to see more of our community come out to take advantage of it,” says Emily Moore, sales & marketing manager.

To buy your tickets to the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center’s historic movie viewing experiences today, go to Tickets.TheRobinsonGrand.com.  It’s easy and affordable at only $6.50 a ticket.
The box office and main doors to the theatre will open one hour prior to each movie to allow patrons time to find their seats, purchase refreshments, and enjoy pre-show interactions. To purchase tickets over the phone, please call (855)-773-6283 on Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
