Harrison County Parks and Rec Will be Host for Punt, Pass and Kick Competition, Soccer Challenge

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on September 28, 2022

Updated with change of date for one of the events

Harrison County Parks and Recreation will be hosting a Punt, Pass and Kick competition on Saturday, Oct. 15, and a Soccer Challenge on Saturday, Oct. 8, with both events taking place at the Summit Park Recreation Complex, on Field 2, the first field you see upon entry.

The Punt, Pass and Kick event was orginally scheduled for this Saturday but has been moved to Oct. 15 because of the threat of inclement weather this weekend.

Registration for both events will start at 10 a.m. on the day of the competition.

In the Punt, Pass and Kick Competition, participants will get a chance to throw, punt, and kick the football off a tee for distance. The cumulative score for all three categories will determine the winner. The competition is open to all children ages 6-15.

In the Soccer Challenge, each participant will get 3 warmup shots, and then 15 shots at the goal. The goal will be roped off into different sections worth different point totals. The totals after the 15 shots will be added up and the highest scorer in each age category will be the winner. The competition is open to all children ages 6-15

Any additional questions, please contact Jack Cann at the Harrison County Parks and Recreation office during normal business hours of 8:30-4:30 Monday through Friday at 304-423-7800
