Winter Storm Watch Upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning

The Charleston National Weather Service has just upgraded the Winter Storm Watch for our area to a Winter Storm Warning.  Please see details below.  
 
A weather briefing will be held at 5PM today with the National Weather Services offices and the State Emergency Operations Center.  Please stay tuned to local forecast offices to keep abreast of this evolving situation.  Early predictions are calling for up to .05" of ice and 4 - 8" of snow for our area [timing and additional information is below in the warning].  Take time NOW to be prepared for hazardous travel conditions, power outages and downed trees.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON SUNDAY TO 4 PM EST MONDAY...
 
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR FREEZING RAIN...SLEET...AND EVENTUALLY SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON SUNDAY TO 4 PM EST MONDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
 
* LOCATIONS...A PORTION OF SOUTHEAST OHIO...NORTH CENTRAL AND 
  WESTERN WEST VIRGINIA...PLUS NORTHEAST KENTUCKY.
 
* HAZARD TYPES...FREEZING RAIN...SLEET...AND EVENTUALLY SNOW.
 
* ICE ACCUMULATIONS...0.25 TO 0.50 INCHES.
 
* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...4 TO 8 INCHES.
 
* TIMING...STARTING SUNDAY AFTERNOON...PEAKING OVERNIGHT SUNDAY  NIGHT INTO MONDAY MORNING...THEN DIMINISHING MONDAY AFTERNOON.
 
* IMPACTS...UNTREATED SURFACES...INCLUDING BOTH ROADS AND 
  WALKWAYS...COULD BECOME HAZARDOUS. ICE AND OR WET SNOW CAN 
  ACCUMULATE ON TREES AND POWER LINES...CAUSING POWER 
  INTERRUPTIONS. THE MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE WILL LIKELY BE 
  AFFECTED.
 
* WINDS...NORTH 5 TO 10 MPH.
 
* TEMPERATURES...IN THE UPPER 20S.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW...
SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS
ARE ALSO POSSIBLE.  THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS
OR IMPOSSIBLE.
