BHS Names Duarte, Ayoob Students of Month for November

Bridgeport High School has named Amelia Duarte and Thomas Ayoob as its students of the month for November.
 
Amelia Duarte is a Senior at Bridgeport High School and the daughter of Scott and Jennifer Duarte of Bridgeport.
 
She is a perfect honor roll student who takes AP and dual credit college courses. She earned an Academic Letter her Freshman year, as well as a Lamp for her sophomore, junior and senior years. 
 
During her four years at BHS, Amelia has been active in the Drug Free Club, French Club, Indian Insider, Library Assistant, and varsity cheerleader her freshman year.
 
Amelia is a member of the National Honor Society, where she has volunteered for several service projects for school and in the community. Some of her favorites have been the Angel Luv Program, Operation Christmas Child, Trunk or Treat, and Shop for Tots. 
 
Amelia had the honor of being chosen Senior Homecoming Princess. She spends her free time working at Bonnie Belle's and babysitting for several families in the Bridgeport area. Amelia attends Horizons Church.
 
She plans to attend West Virginia University next fall and major in Communication Sciences and Disorders and pursue her Masters in Speech Language Pathology.
 
Thomas Ayoob is the son of Brian and Kelly Ayoob.
 
He is the grandson of Roy and Linda Williamson of Bridgeport and the late Thomas and Judy Ayoob.
 
He is a member of the All-Saints Catholic Church.
 
He has been a member of the Bridgeport High School basketball team for four years and the Bridgeport High School soccer team his freshman and sophomore years.
 
Academically, Thomas has received an academic letter and academic lamp and has participated in Shop for Tots.
 
Through his entire high school years, he has participated in summer internships at CityNet. His post-secondary plans are to work for CityNet and pursue a future in fiber optics.
