The Bridgeport High School girls basketball team will close out the regular season at home on Wednesday against Lewis County.
Following the clash with the Minutemaids, the Indians, who are currently 6-15, will turn their attention to the Class AAA Region II Tournament. Beginning this year in West Virginia high school basketball there are no sectional tournaments.
Bridgeport along with Lincoln, Hampshire, Frankfort, Keyser, Lewis County, Berkeley Springs and Robert C. Byrd make up Region II. The eight schools will be seeded and the top two remaining seeds will advance to the state tournament.
Seeding for the regional has not been announced yet.
BHS lost to Philip Barbour, 73-60, last Friday but prior to that picked up a 41-35 victory against South Harrison.
Hayley Pryor had 14 points in the win against the Hawks, while Reece Pierce had 11 points and six steals.
Kloey Martinez added eight points and 12 rebounds. Audrey Kerr pulled down nine rebounds.
