Bridgeport Takes Top Spot in First Batch of WVSSAC Playoff Ratings for Class AAA

In the first batch of WVSSAC High School Football Playoff Ratings for the 2024 season, Bridgeport is at the No. 1 spot for Class AAA.
 
The ratings are used to determine the postseason field at the end of the regular season with the Top 16 in each of the four classes earning a spot in the playoffs.
 
The Indians are one of six Big 10 Conference schools currently in the Top 16 for Class AAA. Fairmont Senior is tied for No. 2 with Herbert Hoover, North Marion is No. 5, Robert C. Byrd is No. 7, Elkins is No. 11 and East Fairmont is No. 16.
 
Three more Big 10 teams are in the Top 16 for Class AA, where Roane County is No. 1. Philip Barbour is No. 6, Liberty is No. 12 and Lincoln is No. 15.
 
Spring Mills is No. 1 in Class AAAA and Petersburg is No. 1 in Class A.
