Official Winners Listed in Eighth Annual Playoff Payoff by The Dyer Group with Top 50 Finishers Posted

By Jeff Toquinto on January 11, 2020

And the winner is …

After nearly four months of football – 16 weeks to be exact – a winner has emerged in the eighth annual Playoff Payoff brought to you this year by The Dyer Group. And while the winner isn’t local, the name is familiar in this contest.

Jason Hartman, of Oakland, Md., who finished fourth last year just outside the prize pool, is a former champion of the contest and established himself as the frontrunner early this year. When everyone’s worst two weeks out of 16 were dropped to produce each individual’s highest winning percentage, it was Hartman who won handily.

The out-of-stater finished at 325-76. That is a 81.05 winning percentage.

Hartman now has his choice of the prize packages. The first package consists of a $500 Meadowbrook Mall gift certificate. The second package consists of two $25 girft certificates from Buffalo Wild Wings, two $25 gift certificates to Dairy Queen, a $25 gift certificate to About You Monograms, two cheesecakes from Almost Heaven Desserts, two $25 gift certificates to Mountaineer World, and a $25 gift certificate to Mia Margherita. The third package includes a Bose Micro Soundlink, two $25 gift certificates to Buffalo Wild Wings, two cheesecakes from Almost Heaven Desserts, and a $25 gift certificate to About You Monograms.

The runner-up is from Bridgeport and is a familiar name to many. Bridgeport businessman Clayce Spurlock ends the season with a record of 304-75 (80.21 percentage). Spurlock will need to list the order of prizes he would like and will receive his top choice not chosen by Hartman.

In third place is another Bridgeport name. Aaron Williams, a 1994 Bridgeport High School graduate finished at 313-81 (79.44) and will receive the prize package not taken by Hartman and Spurlock. Williams edged out fourth place Jimmy Stutler who was 309-81 (79.23) and Jeff Muller (79.16) who went 300-79 with his two worst weeks dropped.

The three individuals are asked to email their choices - in order - to Cassie Busdeker at cassie@connect-bridgeport.com. Please include your address and a contact phone number.

The rest of the top 10 includes Hugh Gainer (310-84) at No. 6, Patsy Sabatelli (306-84) No. 7, Timmy Thompson (306-84) No. 8, Louis Aragona (309-85) at No. 9 and Aaron Mann (305-85) at No. 10.
