Last week, West Virginia University Athletic Director Wren Baker put on an outfit no one likely ever expected him to be covered in. At the same time, the reason it was on him was the result of a promise.
Last week, on Wednesday, March 20, Baker fulfilled a promise regarding the WVU NIL Country Roads Trust. The promise was if the trust reached 1,500 members, he would take the mayonnaise bath WVU football Coach Neal Brown took over WVU’s win in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
On that day, he was doused. While the Country Roads Trust membership was good news, it was done in conjunction with WVU’s annual Day of Giving. More than $10,000 was rasised for WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital as a result of the bath.
