Strong Ideas: Get Moving!
By Emily Stapleton on January 07, 2013 from Strong Ideas
We all know that physical activity has many benefits, but it doesn’t hurt to review a few of those benefits. As stated by Mayo Clinic (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/exercise/HQ01676), here are just a few things physical activity can do for you:
- Control body weight
- Combat health conditions and diseases
- Improve mood
- Boost energy
- Promote better sleep
- Put the spark in your sex life
- Provide a fun past time
I know I just said you don’t need equipment or a gym membership, however if those things help you get moving, then go for it. Finding what works for you is easy. You need a plan to get moving. Consider the following:
- Sign up a for a class and attend regularly;
- Join a local gym and schedule regular visits;
- Purchase an exercise video and use it;
- Purchase (or uncover) some home exercise equipment and use it;
- Explore the great outdoors by running, walking, or biking;
- Find an exercise plan online and stick to it!
All of the above have one commonality: They all work to get you moving. Find what works for you and do it!
There is obviously a lot more to physical activity than what is covered in this blog (and I look forward to covering much more in future blogs), but the IDEA here is simple, get moving!
Until next week,
Emily
