Bridgeport Softball Finishes Regular Season

The Bridgeport Indians softball team will enter regionals with a 6-15 record after losses to Doddridge County, Lincoln and Keyser to end the regular season.
On Monday, the Tribe was competitive with a team that routinely makes regionals, falling to the Bulldogs, 3-1.
Reese Van Zant had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run.
Peyton Kelley singled and scored and Amayah Clark also singled.
Addison Mike pitched a strong complete game, allowing two earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.
In the 7-0 defeat at the hands of Lincoln, Avery Humble and Olivia Corder both singled.
Mike pitched another complete game, giving up two earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts.
Against Keyser, Clark scored in the third inning but the Tribe couldn't extend the game, losing 16-1 in three frames.
Bridgeport is the No. 5 seed in the double-elimination Class AAA Region II tournament and will travel to No. 4 Elkins on Monday.
A win would earn a rematch with Keyser, the top seed in the region, on Tuesday, while a loss would set up an elimination game with Tuesday's loser on Wednesday.
