In memory of Kane Eddy.
This is the story of the “German Shepherd Man” & his best friend. This is not just about any dog. Kane was one of the most loyal and obedient dogs of his breed and was known for his intelligence and eagerness to learn, which made him highly trainable.
If you are from Bridgeport or just passing through, you would often be amazed as you watched Kane and his owner, Nick Eddy enjoying their daily runs together on Main Street. People admired these two and were always so impressed with the obedience of Kane during their runs from no leash, laying at every stop sign, and sitting at the railroad tracks till his owner released him.
Kane stole the hearts of many with his gentle and loyal disposition. Even at 7- ½ years of age, he was still running and most recently completed the Derek Hotsinpiller 5k Race where he received Top Dog and his owner, Nick won a medal for finishing 2nd in his age group.
Unfortunately, Kane’s purpose on this earth was cut short by an unexpected illness. Kane is now in the meadows and will wait on his best friend to run over the rainbow bridge together.
His memory will leave paw prints on the hearts of those who loved him and especially his loyal owner, Nick Eddy.
Rest in peace.
